AIIMS Shimla, 9:30 am.
The crisp Himalayan air nipped at the morning stillness, mist curling in lazy waves along the ground. The sharp purr of a black Mercedes-Benz S-Class broke the quiet as it glided to a halt outside the grand facade of AIIMS Shimla. The door opened with a soft click. Dr. Kabir Singhania stepped out. Tall. Impeccably dressed in a black three-piece suit that fit like second skin. His Rolex Submariner gleamed against his wrist as he adjusted the cuffs. Dark aviators shielded his eyes, but his presence alone drew glances. Calm, Controlled. Every step deliberate, the embodiment of composed elegance.

The guard greeted him with a respectful nod. Kabir returned it with a brief smile and walked inside the gleaming marble-floored lobby. His polished Oxfords echoed quietly as he moved past the front desk. His phone buzzed, An email from the hospital board. Kabir's eyes remained glued to the screen as he entered the elevator. Without breaking stride, he pressed the button for the 7th floor Board Conference Room. The elevator doors slid open with a gentle ding. Still focused on his phone, Kabir stepped out. And collided. Thud. A muffled gasp. A rustle of paper. A file slipped from slender fingers , sheets scattered, fluttering like startled birds. He instinctively reached out. One arm braced around her waist. The other caught her elbow. Her back leaned slightly into his palm. Both her arms instinctively rested on his shoulders, trying to steady herself and prevent the fall
For a heartbeat, everything stilled. She was elegance, wrapped in poise. She is none other than kashish Diwan, The Architect and Chairperson of Visionary Vista. She is draped in Cream colored tailored pantsuit. A soft White Top , tucked crisply beneath a structured blazer. Her hair half-pinned back in soft waves, with a few wisps dancing near her cheek. A light, familiar perfume rose and something warmer drifted in the space between them. Their eyes met. His deep-set, charcoal grey, quietly observant. Hers almond-shaped, emotionally guarded, yet strikingly self-assured. There was no dramatic pause. No lingering gaze. Just... stillness. Recognition. A flicker. A beat. An unspoken curiosity. "I'm so sorry. Are you alright?" Kabir asked, stepping back, his tone clipped but sincere. Kashish, standing tall at 5'8", straightened her posture, smoothed her top, and gathered her composure with quiet determination saying "No, it was my fault. I should've looked where I was going." He cleared his throat softly and bent down to gather her scattered file. Their fingers brushed for the briefest moment , warm skin against cool skin just long enough to register. "Here." He handed the file back. "It's intact." She accepted it with a slight nod. "Thank you," she said, her voice low but graceful. Neither of them knew each other's name. But something lingered , a quiet gravity in the way neither turned to leave immediately. Just then "Kabir! the meeting is in 15 min, lets go to the conference room!" Dr. Aditya's voice called out from the corridor. Kabir finally looked away. With a composed nod, he stepped aside. His gait was calm but slightly slower now, as though the encounter had unsettled the rhythm he always carried. She watched him go. Not in awe. Not in longing. Just wondering. A few seconds later, Kashish Diwan's best friends, Jiya Panchal and Aryan Sinha, arrived. "Please tell me I didn't just watch you crash into Mr. Greek God in a suit?" Jiya whispered dramatically. Kashish exhaled. "He caught me. That's all. Just a random encounter." Aryan raised a brow. "Random? You looked like a scene straight out of a slow motion film." Kashish rolled her eyes, her heels already clicking down the hallway. "We're here to present. Focus, both of you." But the way she clutched the file just a little tighter, the subtle fidget in her fingertips. It said the moment had left a mark. A collision. A second. A spark. The moment had passed. Or perhaps it had just begun.
After the soft collision, Kabir headed into the conference room, while Kashish, along with her friends, walked into the adjacent room where the other four architectural firms were preparing their proposals.
